Who runs the theatre?

The Alhambra Theatre, which will be showing Jerry Springer the Opera, is owned by the City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council. There has already been a large petition against the show, which the Council has agreed to debate, but only after the show has been staged.

Equality Policy

The City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council states it will: "Actively combat discrimination and exclusion locally, nationally and internationally in the context of service provision." (Fairness and Inclusion Plan 2005-2008, City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council, page 23). Yet the Council would not allow a production which spitefully mocks Mohammed or derides Hindu beliefs in such a way. The production clearly breaches the Council's equality policy.
