Who runs the theatre?

The Theatre Royal, which will be showing Jerry Springer the Opera, is owned by the 'Theatre Royal (Norwich) Trust Ltd'. The chairman of the Trust’s board of governors is appointed jointly by Norwich City Council and Norfolk County Council. In addition the councils appoint one other member of the board each.

Public money

For the year ended 3 April 2005, Norwich City Council gave the Theatre Royal (Norwich) Trust Ltd £20,260 (Annual Report and Financial Statements for the 53 weeks ended 3 April 2005, Theatre Royal (Norwich) Trust Ltd, page 16). During this period, Norfolk County Council gave £68,340 (Annual Report and Financial Statements for the 53 weeks ended 3 April 2005, Theatre Royal (Norwich) Trust Ltd, page 16).
