Police and Council back down
over Roberts 'free speech' case

Joe and Helen Roberts

Joe and Helen Roberts

A Christian couple who were interrogated by police after complaining about their local council's 'gay rights' policy have successfully settled their legal action out of court. Lancashire Police and Wyre Borough Council have backed down and admitted they were wrong in how they dealt with Joe and Helen Roberts. The Police and the Council will pay legal costs. They will also pay compensation to the Roberts, which will be donated to a Christian charity.
