Gender Recognition Act

This Bill has now finished all its stages in Parliament. Click here for a statement from Christian Institute Director, Colin Hart.

Under this Bill (now an Act):

  • Churches will face litigation from male 'transsexuals' who want the right to use facilities for women or the right to join the church.

  • Church leaders could face legal action in the secular courts if they refuse to marry two biological men.

  • A vicar could be given a criminal record and fined £5,000 for telling his curate that a 'woman' in the congregation is a male transsexual.
